Wind Turbine Shadow Flicker and Noise, Byron Wisconsin

When industrial wind turbines which are 40 stories tall are sited too close to people’s home there is trouble with noise and shadow flicker. Wind developers deny these problems exist and in the state of Wisconsin want to put them 1000 feet from houses. That’s 350 steps. This video shows what happens when wind turbines are irresponsibly sited. The nation is slowly waking up to the downside of wind energy. Developers lie to residents about the impacts these machines will have on the landowners and neighbor’s lives. They take advantage of those of us who want to do the right thing for our environment by telling us there will be no problem with noise, no problem with shadows, and no problem with putting turbines in bird migration flyways. The truth will out, eventually. For the residents in the town of Byron, Fond du Lac county, the truth is what they live with every single day. There is a place for wind energy. It’s just not beside a person’s home.

How to make a small windmill from a permanent magnet motor

Making a small windmill from garden decoration, and a motor. The larger the motor is
stronger wind is needed to turn the rotor, but also the output will be greater. Using a
rotor with viewer blades will let it spin faster but will also need more windpower. This rotor was easy to use. I found it at a dollar store.

Wind turbines and health problems

Windmills may be an environmentally friendly alternative energy source but they also cause debilitating health problems, say people who live near them. Wind turbines are popping up in rural communities around the world, including Canada, in the hope that they will reduce reliance on coal and other sources for power. Currently, there are about 1,500 turbines across Canada and there are plans to build another 1,000 to 1,500 in the next year. But some residents who live near wind farms complain the turbines cause a number of adverse health effects, such as crippling headaches, nose bleeds and a constant ringing in the ears. Helen and Bill Fraser initially supported the nearby wind farm in Melancthon, Ont. One turbine sat close to the Fraser’s kitchen window. “We thought, more green energy, this is great,” Helen told CTV News.However, Helen says she developed headaches, body aches and she had trouble sleeping.
