DIY vertical wind turbine of the Savonius style.

Notable is that the largest part of this turbine is recycled materials (the PVC drums previously held Balsamic Vinegar from Italy and the generator is a recycled automotive alternator with magnets added).

Axle: 3 inch PVC piping from Home Depot
Bearings: 5 inch lazy suzan from Lowes.

Part 3 will cover connection to the battery bank with charge controller

How to Make an Inexpensive Vertical Wind Turbine – Part 1

Written by admin on November 5, 2008 – 9:08 pm -

Visit Blog at http://berezin.com/jeff for details.

Part 2 is now done and covers power generation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24LSnATIZhw

Harness the wind for less than $100.

DIY vertical wind turbine of the Savonius style.

Notable is that this cost less than $100 in materials so far and that the largest part of this turbine is recycled materials (the PVC drums previously held Balsamic Vinegar from Italy).

Also, this turns well in a very light wind.

Axle: 3 inch PVC piping from Home Depot
Bearings: 5 inch lazy suzan from Lowes.

Part 2 will cover power generation and connection to the battery bank.

Neo Aerodynamic 3 Wind Turbine As Stream Turbine

Written by admin on October 5, 2008 – 2:18 am -

Patent pending; “THE” FLOWING-HYDRO TURBINE of the future

http://Neo-Aerodynamic.com

As a stream turbine it has the following advantages including:
1- Elimination of the costly dam building
2- Enable mankind to tap into thousand, thousand miles of river the forgotten renewable energy source, to be placed where it needed, voiding the high cost of transmission loss.
3- Neo-Aerodynamic works on virtually any water flow (speed, head).
4- It does not require the water to be deep and work even on a very low water speed as shown in the video.
5- After generating power; the turbine will lowering the speed of the water stream to reduce the soil erosion problems.
6- One of the main advantages is a Neo- Aerodynamic allowing the device to be scaled independently in horizontally or vertically to fit your existing environment.
7- Neo- Aerodynamic can also be modified to capture tidal flow and oceanic current, the virtually untapped Green power.
8- Neo- Aerodynamic neutralize the worst enemy; the turbulence; this give an answer to the question why it works while others fail.
