Magnetic hybrid motorbike unveiled in Japan

A Japanese vehicle manufacturer unveiled the prototype of a new electric motorbike carrying a hybrid magnetic motor, which can run almost noiselessly up to 180 kilometres (112 miles) on one charge. Tokyo-based Axle Corporation says that the battery of the next-generation electric vehicle motorbike can be charged at home, in the same way as a cellular phone. It takes a little over 6 hours to fully charge the battery, and the vehicle’s maximum speed is capable of reaching 150 kilometres per hour (93 miles per hour).
The company says the futuristic motorbike enjoys high energy efficiency thanks to a state-of-the-art magnetic motor which is a hybrid between a electromagnet and a permanent magnet. The new motor, called SUMO, short for “super motor,” is housed inside the bike’s rear wheel. The manufacture says the new motor is seven-times more cost efficient than gas-powered scooters.
Daisuke Ito, a professional racer who test rode the EV-X7 prototype, said it could potentially replace machines we now see in motor races. “I just feel that in the near future, we’ll be seeing these kinds of electric motorbikes running all around town. And when that happens, conventional vehicles could disappear from motor racing, too, and well be competing only in electric vehicles.”

Rotoverter Part 1 – Doug Konzen Rotoverter AC Motor

This particular 3450rpm marathon-brand 3ph 2hp AC motor shown in the video I eventually got to run on .18amps (180milliamps) at 120Vac with no load on shaft, using a 9uf run cap.
The rotovertor is a discovery of Hector Torres and has been replicated and tested by hundreds of people since it was introduced publically around 8 years ago by Hector.
This sort of motor has the ability to actually “run itself” if you spin a super effecient generator, and also pull out power not only from the generator, but also what the AC motor itself in rotovertor mode makes in additional power from its third “virtual” phase – this phase works more or less like a “rotary transformer”
Study the rotovertor circuit and you will see that the third phase does not draw electricity, but in fact makes AC power itself that can be extracted.
Look on my geocities site for the rotovertor circuit in “circuit diagrams” link – also look at the circuit there in that link that uses a 2nd trigger-transformer to pulse-out power from that 3rd virtual phase at the motor’s sinewave peaks to charge 2nd battery stacks so there is “no reflection” to the input power to the motor itself. This can also be done using a strobe-light light sensor trigger circuit too.

Also look at link #16 which shows a 5hp 1850rpm rotovertor AC motor spinning a Bill Muller design type of dynamo/generator.
This generator should have its power-out pulsed out at the peaks of the sinewave that the coils prodduce to eliminate “lug” to the motor as it spins the generator.

Permanent Magnet Motor

This is an old idea of an permanent magnet motor that I came up while I was on research for these kind of motors. I built a basic setup with K’NEX but unfortunately there are no 1:2-gears available for this system. Anyways, what I did was to check what forces are present at each position of the two (theoretical) gears. It always seemed that the assembly could move forward in one direction. But yes – that is no question – without the gears there is no chance of a proof and it is difficult to determine the forces just like the way you can see in the video.
The video animation shows the improved concept. 3 rotating stators, arranged in 120° distances around the central gear, are supposed to ensure that all points of equilibrium should break. From this concept you will expect lots states of equilibrium and maybe also different directions of rotation. But the interaction of the forces here is more complex as you think. The very important factor of this motor is the gear ratio of 1:2 between the central gear and the stator gears. I noticed that the rotating stator magnets have priority for their direction of rotation – they can always rotate easier because of the ratio! Because of this factor I believe that the gears do not lock and the assembly would accelerate.
