what type of renewable energy is Wind Power?
Written by admin on February 17, 2010 – 8:47 am -what type of renewable energy is Wind Power?
wind turbines are machines that rotate whenever the force of the wind blows by it. It transforms kinetic energy into mechanical energy. The latter is then converted into electricity. The power generated is dependent of the actual wind power. The stronger the wind, the more power is produced. The wind is a very good source of power as it is available all the time. It replenishes very quickly.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of using hydroelectric and wind power?please help?
Written by admin on February 12, 2010 – 11:21 pm -what are the advantages and disadvantages of using hydroelectric and wind power?
They have sources of energy that don’t impact the earth by mining, burning polluting…etc. the air and water would be flowing anyway, you are just harnessing the energy.
Hydroelectric dams can alter the natural flow of a stream, river or lake.
Wind power tends to present unattractive profiles objected to by people who enjoy the landscape (i.e. a beautiful beach setting is altered when wind turbines are set along the shore.)
Offshore wind farms are said to endanger migratory patterns for birds (but I don’t know if there is any truth to that or not.)

How to get into wind-power field?
Written by admin on February 3, 2010 – 1:17 pm -I graduated from college 2 years ago, and my degree has proven mostly useless.
I’m 25, and would like to somehow work for a power company maintaining wind turbines. I like the green renewable aspect of it all. Any ideas on how to get a job in the industry?
I assume you googled for power companies that have wind machines. So contact their personnel department and see what they have to offer.
The google wind machine manufactures, contact them.
Consider returning to college to study wind turbines. You didn’t say what your degree was in but if you go into an MA program you will be in the forefront of machine development and will have contacts in industry and management.
If you primary interest is maintaining them, you should find companies that do that and see if they need a trainee.
There is more than one wind farm in the US and there are many small operators.

is it possible that wind power would be able to energizer a car?
Written by admin on January 29, 2010 – 3:31 pm -i.e. if there were millions of small miniature fans that are used in wind power were on the car; could the car be powered by them?
The more practical solution to use wind to power a car isn’t with small fans, but with big ones – at least for the time being. Large wind turbines generate electricity, which can be stored in a battery. That battery could be your car’s battery (direct) or it could be used to charge your car’s battery system (indirect).
That’s probably the most likely wind-powered car in the near future.

How Can I Build a Wind Power Windmill?
Written by admin on January 25, 2010 – 6:34 am -I was wondering How Can I Build a Wind Power Windmill?
Take a bicycle wheel without tyre. Make it horizontally in its axiel. Connect sum bigger size funel about 4 or six in its outer surface. Make it to rotate it in the wind.Use a cycle dinamo or any other small d.c motor or generator to fix in it. When the wheel rotates you get electricity power.

Who advocates for wind power to be used?
Written by admin on January 18, 2010 – 3:12 pm -I neeeed to know who are some major people or orginazations or whatever that encourage and advocate wind energy usage/ wind power???
It has its’ place but is noisy and not overly efficient. I advocate less greed in the use of power. Here in england they are forcing us to be greener yet the big city companies leave thousands of watts of lighting burning day and night. We will never meet the requirements of the whole world at the levels we use power now so must reduce what we all use then provide as much of our power from the most reliable and least toxic sources.
Gas turbines are the best we have at the moment for efficiency vs pollution so we need to be generating gas from waste and using that as primary source where possible then supplementing with wind, wave, solar geothermal and any other technology we can find but not nuclear until the science can deal with the waste.
I will repeat my call for reduction of energy use as the only long term solution.
