Can you educate me about energy recovery ventilation systems? ?

In wanting to know a little bit more about energy recovery ventilation systems I did some internet research. There was plenty of information, but not necessarily geared to someone without tech knowledge. I am more interesting in getting feedback from someone who has such a system, has installed one or has tech knowledge to share.

We have been doing some home improvement projects, especially around the concepts of heating and cooling. Our knowledge is limited and we have to depend on working with reputable tradesmen for their input.

I was wondering if energy recovery ventilation systems are useful or practical for the average homeowner?

power recovery turbine?

Could you help me how can we use the dynamics energy of a high speed low pressure (atm) air, exits from a piping system equipped with a fan, without increasing the pressure on the exitting air and accordingly on the fan.
I think if it was water instead of the air, we could simply do it by installing a water turbine next to th exitting water without increasing the pressure, ( let the water exit in the atmosphere pressure and by using its velocity it is going to the turbine and will give us energy)

You can’t. Any such attempt WILL increase the pressure.

How much does it cost to run this heater – 1200w?

I have a space heater that is 1200W and 120V. Our energy company charges are below – I have no idea what it all means. I’m just trying to find out how much it would cost to run this heater say for 1 hour in a 500sq ft room (continuous heating). Even a ballpark would be nice. Thanks!

each answer has to be in paragraph form.

these might not be in order….im just gonna answer what i can!

8. List the major characteristics of mammals.
-have mammary glands (meaning they make milk for their offspring)
-they have hair on some part of their body
-they have middle ear bones

12. explain how a forest fire can affect the germination of certain pine seeds and the recovery of a forest from a fire.
well pine seeds are gymnosperm, so they disperse their seeds by cones and a forest fire would not only destroy the original trees where the cones originated from, but since the seeds themeselves are dependent on being dispersed from the cone "exploding" they lay on the ground, where they are vulnerable to being burned, as opposed to some plants that use animals or the wind for dispersal of seeds, thus giving the seeds a greater chance of getting away from the fire. of cource, the lack of seeds would effect the rate of regrowth one the fire has burned out.

10. What is the evolutionary relationship between the angiosperms and gymnosperms living today? did the angiosperms evolve from the gymnosperms?
angeosperm are so far the last and most complex plant type yet to evolve, so yes, they did evolve from gymnosperm. both are vascular seeded plants.

6. What improvements in jaw design have contributed to the success of snaes as predators?
i would assume that the snakes ability to swallow its prey whole and extend its jaw so wide has effected its sucess rate as a predator

this is a difficult question as far as the examples go, because as earth itself evolved, amphibians had a harder time surviving as the air temperatures cooled and water evaporated. to this day, there are only three main types of amphibians left living, the frog, toad, and salamander. most amphibians hit their evolutionary "dead end" when they tried to adapt to living on land, and failed to be able to adapt to maintian mosture and adapt to gravity
never the less, some distinctive characteristics of amphibains are that they lay their eggs underwater. this really distinguishes them from reptiles, who evolved from amphibians, and adapted to laying their eggs on the land. amphibians also maintin the ability to breath throught their skin through a gas exchange.

I have to find a spokesperson/expert on the industrial heat recovery energy. I found the terms Cogeneration or HCP during my researches but as I am not an expert on the subject, I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is the same process/technology than Waste Heat Recovery?

Here is a company which is a leader in China:
China Energy Recovery (CER), headquartered in Shanghai, is an international leader in designing, fabricating, implementing and servicing energy recovery systems. CER’s technology captures industrial waste energy to produce low cost electrical power, which enables industrial manufacturers to reduce their energy costs, shrink their emissions footprint, and generate sellable emissions credits.

There are many applications for waste heat recovery that do not involve power generation. The waste heat is used instead for systems such as absorption refrigeration, water evaporation or other processes that utilize low level heat energy.

This type of technology as well as cogeneration systems are old technology and any competent engineering firm that deals in process plants can design or build such systems.

I am personally aware of dozens that have been built in the last 35 years in various sizes.

Industrial Waste Heat Energy Recovery – Speaker?

I am looking for the name of a General Speaker about Industrial waste heat energy recovery:
Capture the energy wasted during manufacturing such as Pollution and Heat, and re-use it within the plant to produce electricity for example.
If anyone knows the name of a representative of this technology/system it would be very helpful. I am looking for a counterpart of Al Gore for example, someone who defends/promotes the Waste Heat Recovery Energy as a new energy for the
future?

Meanwhile, if you know some companies like China Energy Recovery that offer this kind of system, please give me their names too.

Since this technology is not really well known, I was wondering if there was someone out there in the world who is a Global Speaker defending/promoting the Industrial Waste Heat Energy Recovery, like Al Gore does for Global Warming.

Industrial waste heat is often used as a pre-heat for water lithium bromide chillers. Check with the HVAC industry, ASHRAE in particular.

Note it’s possible to run such chillers off evacuated tube solar thermal collectors. Pretty neat getting air conditioning from solar power without photovoltaics.

exercising when sick?

Does exercise suppress the immune system?? Or stimulate it??

I have a sore throat. Should I work out (I strength train, heavy), or will the recovery from the workout steal energy from the healing process??

exercise is not good for sore throats. if you had congestion, a little low impact cardio would be ok because it would naturally help open up your head. other than that, REST
